RADIO
COMMUNICATION |

Overview
In this section you'll find information about Radio
Communication and the Phonetic Alphabet.
Radio
Communication

Understanding is paramount in pilot-controller communication.
Radio communication is key as part of flight training for FAA pilot certificates and it is examined during the practical phase of your check ride.
The FAA does not require a radio communication license. However, some other countries do and they may issue a restricted radio license to those holding a
FAA pilot license. More detailed information is available from local aviation administration offices or agencies regulating radio communication in your country of residence.

on the Radio.
Phonetic Alphabet

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) phonetic alphabet is used by Air Traffic Control (ATC) and pilots throughout the world
for radio communications. This will become second nature for any pilot or person in aviation.
